King Lear essay paper deals with the famous tragedy play by the William Shakespeare. It is based on the legend of this king of Britain. It is one of the finest plays in English literature and is considered to be one of the greatest works by William Shakespeare. Plot – In this play the principal characters are King Lear, his three daughters Goneril, Cordelia and Regan, Edmund, Edgar, The Earl of Gloucester and others. The play starts with when the King Lear wants his three daughters to show their love for their father in speech. Cordelia refused because she loved her father so much that it was not possible for her to show false flattery for her father. Goneril and Regan took this chance and they took the entire kingdom leaving Cordeila nothing. The university essay in such a direction would evolve analysis of the various scenarios.
Conquer – The King of France still married her. After getting the Kingdom the Goneril and Regan changed their attitude to their father and then King Lear understood his mistake. The legitimate son of the Earl of Gloucester and the half brother of Edmund Edgar were duped by Edmond. Edgar acted as a lunatic. The story goes on like this and at the end the King Lear and his daughter Cordelia both died.
Conclusion – This tragic end was extensively criticized by the 20th century critics and play maker and they have changed this version by surviving Cordelia and giving marriage to Edgar and Cordelia.
What we learnt? – This play shows a lot of shades of human characters and it has successfully portrayed that time of Britain. It also showed the nature of the noble of Britain, their thinking, aspirations and the politics. This is one of the most successful play of all time because it has correctly portrayed the complex human nature and their behavior in different situations.
